Zelenskyy: Asian Countries Show Interest in Ukraine's Maritime Defense Expertise

According to Reuters, following the outbreak of the war in Iran, Ukraine dispatched hundreds of experts to the Middle East to share its combat experience in shooting down Iranian-made drones, which Russia heavily utilized in the early stages of its full-scale invasion. In his evening address, Zelenskyy stated: 'Ukrainian military personnel are participating in consultations regarding the subsequent operations in the Strait of Hormuz. Secure navigation is a common global value, a fact we deeply understand from our experience defending the Black Sea.' Ukraine successfully thwarted Russia's attempts to blockade its Black Sea access during the Ukraine-Russia war. Despite not possessing a strong fleet, Ukraine, with innovative technologies like maritime drones, forced the Russian Black Sea Fleet to retreat from its bases in occupied Crimea. Zelenskyy pointed out that interest in Ukraine's military technology now extends beyond Europe. These technologies are sometimes more advanced than traditional weapons and lower in cost. He said: 'Our diplomats have received relevant requests from Asian countries, and I have instructed them to process these promptly.' However, Zelenskyy did not specify which Asian countries made these requests.
