Lin Chia-lung visited the Marshall Islands from the 7th to the 9th as Presidential Envoy, leading a delegation of representatives from government ministries and industries.

Lin Chia-lung posted on Facebook today that on the first stop of his visit, he paid respects at the former residence of the Marshall Islands' founding father, Kabua (Amata Kabua). He then proceeded to the presidential office, where, in the presence of Marshallese cabinet members, he presented his credentials to President Hilda C. Heine and paid a courtesy call to the Speaker of the Council of Chiefs, Lanny Kabua. In the evening, he cut a cake with President Heine at a welcome banquet to bless the enduring friendship between the two countries.

Lin Chia-lung quoted Heine in his post as emphasizing the high regard for the deep bilateral friendship between Taiwan and the Marshall Islands, and looking forward to continued deepening of cooperation in various fields. Lin Chia-lung thanked the Marshall Islands government for continuously expanding bilateral cooperation, enabling the people of both countries to share more well-being, and expressed hope that this visit would further deepen connections in areas such as trade and investment, leading to more concrete cooperation results.

Lin Chia-lung noted that Heine celebrated her birthday on the 6th. As she was born in the Year of the Rabbit, he specially prepared a rabbit-shaped necklace as a gift. Heine, in return, presented a traditional handicraft woven from coconut fiber, explaining that this fabric was once used as a skirt and is now one of the Marshall Islands' most representative traditional crafts.

Lin Chia-lung pointed out that in 2025, the Marshall Islands' parliament building unfortunately caught fire and was destroyed. Taiwan and the US are jointly funding the construction of the new parliament building. Afterwards, he, along with Speaker of Parliament Brenson Wase, visited the construction site of the new parliament building, looking forward to its smooth completion. (Editor: Huang Guolun) 1150408
