Miaoli Man Missing While Checking Mountain Spring Pipes Found Deceased, Suspected Fall into River

The Miaoli County Fire Bureau stated that the Shitan Fire Brigade received a report from the WenShui Police Station of the Dahu Police Precinct at 11 PM on the 6th, indicating a citizen had gone missing in the mountainous area near Liantaishan and requesting search assistance. Searching along the riverbank, they discovered the deceased Liu man in a 3-meter-deep stream channel beside a culvert. He was clearly deceased, and rescue teams proceeded with water rescue equipment to retrieve the body. The remains were subsequently handed over to the police and family for further handling. Police indicated that Liu's home relies on mountain spring water, and due to a recent shortage, Liu suspected that continuous heavy rains had dislodged the pipeline. He went out to the mountain area to inspect the pipes but did not return home by late night. His family went to search and found only Liu's car left by the roadside. Based on the evidence at the scene, police do not rule out the possibility that Liu slipped from a high embankment and fell into the waterway due to slippery roads.
