DOLLY IP Anime and Manga Crossover: Voice Actors Unite at Comic Expo

(Central News Agency reporter Wang Bao'er, Taipei, July 16) Taiwan's animated film 'Welcome to Dolly House' has been selected as the opening film for this year's Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France. Today, the Cultural Content Promotion Institute (文策院) announced a cross-media collaboration between the film and the webtoon 'DOLLY,' which will debut in a stage event at the Comic Expo.

The Cultural Content Promotion Institute released a press statement today, stating that continuing from this year's Taipei International Book Exhibition theme 'Let's Chase Stars Together!', the Taiwan Comics Pavilion at the Comic Expo will once again be transformed into a fan support zone for local comics. The pavilion will collaborate with 39 partner organizations and publishers, as well as four major digital comic platforms—CCC追漫台, LINE WEBTOON, MOJOIN, and Renta! Luan Da—to showcase 75 selected Taiwanese comic works.

The Institute has also planned 12 stage events at the Taiwan Comics Pavilion and one main stage event at the Comic Expo. The highlight is the cross-platform联动 between the Tian Shui Era animated film 'Welcome to Dolly House' and the concurrently serialized webtoon 'DOLLY' on CCC追漫台. Lead actors Yao Ai-Ning, Ji Pei-Hui, and Qiu Yi-Tai will attend to share behind-the-scenes stories.

Popular workplace illustrator 'I'm Mark' will present the latest updates on 'Death God Doesn't Want to Work' and premiere the animated teaser at the Comic Expo. He will also hold a dialogue with Joseph, an IP licensing expert and agency director, discussing the full journey from webtoon serialization and character design to animation development.

Jian Shi-Jie, the long-running and beloved Taiwanese comic 'Beitou Witch,' will host a first-release sale and signing event for his new volume, sharing his creative journey and character backstories. Additionally, 'Your Job & Your Vacation' will debut its comic-to-musical adaptation with a first-look signing event, featuring original manga artist Ri Lun, director Xiao Ma, and lead actors Zhong Zheng-Jun and Zhou Ding-Wei, who will perform musical numbers live on stage.
