China Airlines was fined a total of NT$130,000 for two incidents: a discrepancy between the passenger count and flight manifest on its CI007 flight from Los Angeles to Taoyuan in January this year, and transporting checked baggage of passengers who did not board on its CI838 flight from Bangkok to Taoyuan.

The CAA published the penalty details on its official website. Regarding the mismatch between passenger numbers and the manifest on China Airlines' CI007 flight (Los Angeles–Taoyuan), the administration stated it has imposed a fine of NT$50,000 under Article 112-4, Paragraph 1, Item 5 of the Civil Aeronautics Act.

Regarding the CI838 flight (Bangkok–Taoyuan) transporting checked baggage of passengers who did not board, the CAA stated it has imposed a fine of NT$80,000 under Article 112-4, Paragraph 1, Item 5, and in accordance with Paragraph 5 of the same article for voluntary reporting.

Additionally, it was found that the inspection of the rear compressor frame (CRF) component of the No. 2 engine on a China Airlines A330-300 aircraft was conducted past its scheduled date under the Aircraft Maintenance Program (AMP). The CAA has issued a warning under Article 112, Paragraph 2, Item 2 of the Civil Aeronautics Act and in accordance with Article 112-1 for voluntary reporting, and ordered immediate corrective action.

In response, China Airlines stated that it immediately reported the incidents to the relevant authorities and completed all required corrective measures in accordance with regulations.
