(Central News Agency reporter Chang Chien-chung, Taipei, 16th) The Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) announced today that, in collaboration with Pegatron Corporation and NTT East Japan, it has won the Outstanding Software and Service Product or Technology Award at the SFC Mobile Network Awards, demonstrating Taiwan's innovative capabilities in the fields of 5G private network software and intelligent network services.

ITRI released a press statement today, with Ting Pang-an, Director of the Institute of Information and Communications Technology, stating that as the world moves toward the 6G and intelligent native network era, enterprise private networks have evolved from merely emphasizing network coverage to ensuring service quality.

Ting said, "The ability to continuously maintain low latency, high reliability, and stable service quality during device mobility has become a core capability determining whether mission-critical applications such as smart factories, smart logistics, smart ports, and drones can be widely deployed."

ITRI stated that the award-winning achievement was jointly completed by ITRI, Pegatron, and NTT East Japan. ITRI's next-generation intelligent network management platform, ITRI Athena Orchestrator, provides intelligent network management and AI decision-making capabilities, responsible for real-time monitoring of network status, analyzing terminal movement trajectories, and issuing optimized control strategies.

Pegatron possesses O-RAN software and hardware integration capabilities, offering a highly programmable and flexibly scheduled 5G base station system. It tightly integrates with ITRI's AI decision-making platform to ensure that AI-driven intelligent networks are accurately implemented in complex vertical application domains.

NTT East Japan has accumulated extensive experience in operating enterprise private networks and successfully validated the effectiveness of the O-RAN-compliant integrated system by maintaining and enhancing communication quality for mobile carriers in real-world application scenarios.

ITRI pointed out that the successful integration of the intelligent network platform, programmable base stations, and enterprise private network application fields—linking technology development, equipment integration, and commercial validation—was a key factor in gaining international recognition from the judging panel.

ITRI noted that the SCF Mobile Network Awards are hosted by the global Small Cell Forum (SCF) and are among the most prestigious awards in the international wireless communications industry. SCF members include global telecom operators, equipment vendors, chipmakers, private network solution providers, and industrial users, who have long promoted the development of small cells, enterprise private networks, Open RAN, and mobile network infrastructure.
