(Central News Agency, Taipei, July 3rd) American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) Director William Brent Christensen stated today that he recently held discussions with Minister of Foreign Affairs Lin Chia-lung and ambassadors from Taiwan's allies in the Western Hemisphere. He affirmed Taiwan's upcoming "Drone Diplomacy" program and expressed that the United States will strongly support Taiwan's efforts in this critical region.

Christensen posted on social media that Lin Chia-lung particularly emphasized Taiwan's foreign affairs achievements during the meeting, including the establishment of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) data center in Paraguay, training medical personnel in Belize, and expanding scholarship programs for technical training for students in the Caribbean region.

Furthermore, Lin Chia-lung also previewed Taiwan's brand-new "Drone Diplomacy" program. This program will provide training and equipment for unmanned aerial systems to allies, assisting diplomatic allies in combating illegal fishing fleets and drug traffickers, and delivering medicine to remote villages.

Christensen pointed out that Taiwan, once a major recipient of U.S. foreign aid, has now developed into a global center of technological and industrial excellence. For Western Hemisphere countries seeking to develop their economies and improve their people's livelihoods through free markets and democratic systems, Taiwan offers an excellent model.
