US June Jobs Report Weakens Rate Hike Expectations, US Stocks Open Slightly Higher

(Taipei, July 2) Major Wall Street stock indexes opened slightly higher today, as the June employment report released earlier fell short of expectations, cooling market expectations for an interest rate hike by the Federal Reserve (Fed).

The Dow Jones Industrial Average opened up 90.0 points, or 0.17%, at 52395.22.

The S&P 500 Index opened up 11.9 points, or 0.16%, at 7495.14.
