(CNA Taipei, July 2) Taiwanese infielder Lee Hao-yu of the Detroit Tigers in Major League Baseball (MLB) entered as a substitute today and drew a crucial walk in the 11th inning of extra innings. He has now reached base in 10 consecutive games, helping his team secure a 6-2 victory. The opposing New York Yankees suffered their 7th consecutive loss.
The Tigers took the lead in the top of the 3rd inning with a solo home run by Kevin McGonigle. They added another run in the top of the 6th. However, the Yankees tied the game in the bottom of the 9th with a solo home run by Amed Rosario, scoring 2 runs in the inning.
Although Lee Hao-yu was not in the starting lineup today, he came up to bat as a pinch hitter in the top of the 9th inning. He struck out against left-handed pitcher Brent Headrick and subsequently took over at second base.

The Tigers then scored the go-ahead run on another walk drawn by Spencer Torkelson. Zach McKinstry followed with a three-run single. The Yankees' rally in the bottom of the 11th fell short.
