(Central News Agency, reporter Zhang Yilian, Kaohsiung, July 1) An odor was emanating from a residential building in Qiaotou District, Kaohsiung City. After being reported by residents, police discovered a solitary man surnamed Wu lying dead on the first floor. Police stated that they will request the prosecutor from the Qiaotou District Prosecutor's Office to conduct an autopsy to clarify the cause of death.

Officers from the Gangshan Precinct of the Kaohsiung City Police Bureau explained that they received a report from the public around 1 p.m. stating that an odor was suspected to be emanating from a residential building on Shengnan Road in Qiaotou District. Police immediately contacted the resident's family to come to the scene, and firefighters assisted in breaking down the door to enter.

Upon entering the house, police and firefighters found the solitary 49-year-old man surnamed Wu lying on the first floor. Paramedics assessed him at the scene and determined he was clearly deceased. Police immediately cordoned off the scene and notified the forensic team to conduct an examination.

Police stated that there were no signs of a struggle at the scene, and external force was preliminarily ruled out. Furthermore, Mr. Wu had poor health.
