(CNA reporter Chang Hsiung-feng Taipei, June 30) The Central Weather Administration of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications updated its high-temperature information this afternoon, warning of high temperatures in 10 counties and cities including Greater Taipei, with Pingtung possibly reaching above 38 degrees Celsius. As of around 2 PM, the highest temperature recorded was 37.6 degrees Celsius in Zhutian Township, Pingtung County.
The Central Weather Administration updated its high-temperature information, stating that the weather across the island is hot and sunny. Around noon, Pingtung County is under an orange alert, warning of extreme high temperatures of 38 degrees Celsius or above; Keelung City, Taipei City, New Taipei City, Changhua County, Nantou County, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, Yilan County, and Hualien County are under a yellow alert, with temperatures expected to exceed 36 degrees Celsius.
According to the Central Weather Administration's website, as of around 2 PM today, the highest temperature recorded was 37.6 degrees Celsius in Zhutian Township, Pingtung County. Among other cities and counties, Nanxi District in Tainan City recorded 36.9 degrees Celsius, and Yuanlin City in Changhua County recorded 36.6 degrees Celsius. (Editor: Kuan Chung-wei) 1150630
