Tainan Agricultural Products Head to Singapore for Taiwan International Vegetarian Food Festival

(CNA, Tainan, June 30) - A team from the Tainan City Government's Agriculture Bureau traveled to Singapore today to participate in the "Taiwan International Vegetarian Food Festival." The event showcased processed mangoes and pineapples, orchids, and specialty souvenirs, promoting Tainan's high-quality agricultural products to Singaporean audiences through tasting experiences and interactive exchanges.

The Tainan City Government stated in a press release that the "Taiwan International Vegetarian Food Festival" was jointly planned by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Singapore, the Ministry of Agriculture, and non-governmental organizations. Centered around exquisite fruits and vegetables, vegetarian cuisine, and sustainable concepts, the festival aims to promote Taiwan's high-quality agriculture and vegetarian culture in Singapore. Tainan City Government was represented by Agriculture Bureau Director Li Fang-lin, who utilized the international vegetarian exchange platform to market Tainan's superior agricultural products.

Li Fang-lin said that Tainan is an important agricultural production base in Taiwan, boasting rich and diverse agricultural and fishery products, as well as excellent processing technology. The city government continues to uphold the goal of "Rooted in Tainan, Global Reach" and actively expands overseas markets. He also expressed hope that this opportunity, through vegetarian cultural exchange, will foster cooperation between Taiwan and Singapore in the fields of agriculture and food culture, thereby expanding international market business opportunities.

He added that the Agriculture Bureau has continuously assisted businesses in expanding into overseas markets in recent years through international exhibitions, overseas marketing, and business exchanges. For this event, they specifically brought processed mangoes and pineapples from Tainan, along with specialty agricultural souvenirs for display, to enhance the brand visibility of Tainan's agricultural products.
