Central News Agency (CNA) reported on June 26th that Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) experienced partial service delays in both directions this morning. At 8:43 AM, the slope monitoring system between Hsinchu and Miaoli stations was triggered, prompting immediate on-site inspections. THSR issued an update at 9:37 AM confirming that the issue had been resolved, though residual delays continued to affect some trains.
According to THSR, the Disaster Warning System (DWS) utilizes sensors installed along the tracks to detect potential safety hazards. Once an abnormality is identified, alerts are sent to train drivers and the Operations Control Center to ensure prompt response. If the DWS detects critical hazards such as earthquakes, intrusions, slope instability, or rockfalls, the Automatic Train Control (ATC) system automatically triggers emergency braking to halt trains and ensure passenger safety.
