The Asian Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Championships commenced with team and individual qualifying rounds. The Taiwan delegation, consisting of Lai Pin-ju, Ting Hua-tien, Liao Yi-chun, and Yang Ke-wen, concluded the competition with a total score of 145.396, placing 7th overall.
The 2026 Asian Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Championships are being held in Zunyi, Guizhou, China, from June 25 to 28. Taiwan’s performance across the vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercises resulted in a 7th-place finish, trailing behind China, Japan, and South Korea. This stands in contrast to the team’s 2023 performance, where they secured a historic bronze medal.
In individual performances, 25-year-old Lai Pin-ju led the team with an 11th-place finish in the all-around competition. Regarding individual event finals, none of the Taiwanese athletes qualified. On the balance beam, Lai achieved a total score of 13.033 (5.400 difficulty, 7.633 execution), placing her as the first reserve. Coach Cheng Kun-chieh noted that while Lai's performance was commendable given her recovery from injury, a minor landing error prevented her from securing a direct spot in the finals. Ting Hua-tien placed 17th on the balance beam with a score of 12.800.
