CWA Issues Heavy Rain Alert: Caution Advised for Yunlin, Chiayi, Tainan, Kaohsiung, and Pingtung

The Central Weather Administration (CWA) has issued a heavy rain alert as a weather front combined with southwesterly winds creates conditions conducive to short-duration heavy rainfall. Today, June 27, Yunlin County, Chiayi County, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, and Pingtung County are expected to experience localized heavy rain or torrential rain.

Furthermore, there is a probability of localized heavy rain in areas from Changhua northward, as well as in the eastern regions and the Penghu archipelago. Residents are urged to remain vigilant against lightning strikes and strong gusts. Low-lying areas should take precautions against flooding, while those in mountainous regions must remain alert for landslides, falling rocks, debris flows, and sudden rises in river water levels.
