Central News Agency (CNA), June 27 – The Central Weather Administration (CWA) has issued a heavy rain advisory as a weather front combined with southwesterly winds impacts Taiwan. Torrential rainfall has already been recorded in Hualien and Taitung counties.

For today, June 27, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, and Pingtung County are expected to experience localized heavy or torrential rain. Meanwhile, regions from Chiayi northward, the eastern half of the island, and the Penghu archipelago face the risk of localized heavy rainfall. The public is advised to remain vigilant against lightning strikes and strong wind gusts. Residents in low-lying areas should be alert for potential flooding, while those in mountainous regions must exercise caution regarding landslides, falling rocks, mudslides, and sudden surges in river water levels.
