On June 26, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that Assistant Foreign Minister Hua Chunying met with Gaku Hashimoto, Acting Chairman of the Japan Association for the Promotion of International Trade, during his visit to attend the China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE).

During the meeting, Hua articulated China’s consistent position on bilateral relations, expressing hope that the Japanese business community would actively contribute to improving China-Japan ties. Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun noted that the strong turnout of Japanese enterprises at the fourth CISCE highlights a clear desire within Japan’s private sector to restore cooperation with China.

Guo urged Japanese policymakers to heed these voices and demonstrate sincerity through concrete actions. Furthermore, Hua addressed the passing of Yohei Kono and raised concerns regarding recent remarks on Taiwan attributed to Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, reiterating Beijing's expectations for the Japanese business community to influence Tokyo's historical perspective and diplomatic approach.
