On the morning of June 26, a major multi-vehicle collision involving nine vehicles occurred at the 42.8km marker on the northbound section of National Highway 1, near the Linkou B exit in Guishan District, Taoyuan City. The accident resulted in 14 people being transported to hospitals. According to police investigations, all drivers involved tested negative for alcohol. The incident caused traffic congestion stretching approximately 10 kilometers, with normal traffic flow resuming at 8:46 AM.

National Highway Police reported receiving the alert at 6:42 AM. Upon arrival, emergency responders assisted in transporting 14 individuals to hospitals; eight were taken to Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, while six others were transported to the Taoyuan General Hospital of the Ministry of Health and Welfare for observation despite having no visible injuries.

Preliminary investigations indicate that a 56-year-old man surnamed Hsieh was driving a bus carrying 21 passengers toward Linkou. While traveling on the shoulder near the 42.8km northbound exit, he allegedly failed to maintain attention to road conditions, striking a passenger vehicle driven by a 41-year-old woman surnamed Li on the exit ramp, subsequently colliding with several other vehicles, including one driven by a 29-year-old man surnamed Dai. In total, nine vehicles were involved in the incident. Further investigation is ongoing to determine the exact cause of the accident.
