The Taoyuan City Fire Department stated they received the report at 6:43 a.m. Initial assessments categorized the 30 injured individuals into three groups: 25 in the 'green' zone (minor), one in the 'yellow' zone (moderate), and four in the 'red' zone (severe). Rescue operations are ongoing.

According to the National Highway Police, the crash was likely exacerbated by heavy rain and slippery road conditions. The collision occupied five lanes, causing significant traffic delays. Authorities are still working to clarify the exact circumstances leading to the crash.
