The Taiwan Railways Corporation (TRC) announced this afternoon that a track elevation irregularity was detected at a rail joint between Banqiao and Shulin stations. To ensure operational safety, the company has shifted to single-track, bi-directional operation for the affected section, which has caused train delays.
According to official reports, the issue was identified at 1:52 PM on the eastbound track in the OS section north of Shulin Station. TRC has dispatched engineering crews to the site for urgent repairs. During this period, the eastbound track in the section between Banqiao and Shulin has been suspended, with all traffic diverted to the westbound track.
A first-level emergency response team has been established to manage the situation. The TRC has expressed its sincere apologies to passengers for the inconvenience caused by these service adjustments.
