The Wei Chuan Dragons clinched the 2026 Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) first-half championship after defeating the TSG Hawks 4-0 at Chengcing Lake Baseball Stadium. This victory guarantees the team a playoff spot, repeating their success from 2023. Manager Yeh Chun-chang expressed satisfaction with the team's development, noting that the goal set during the spring training to build a championship-caliber squad has largely materialized ahead of schedule.
Yeh highlighted the collaborative effort between players and staff, citing improvements in situational hitting and team logistics following a comprehensive review of the previous season. Team captain Giljegiljaw Kungkuan credited the pitchers' development to the dedication of the catching staff and emphasized the importance of the fans' continued support throughout the team's rebuilding phase.
To commemorate the achievement, the club announced a series of promotional campaigns in partnership with various brands, including Wei Chuan Foods, Dicos, AirAsia, FamilyMart, and others. Additionally, a limited-edition championship merchandise collection featuring a black, red, and gold design has been released through the team's online store.
