Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che announced the launch of the 'Tainan Fun: I am an Explorer' summer series, a city-wide initiative that integrates 25 public venues to provide enriched activities for families during the summer vacation.
Mayor Huang emphasized the city's commitment to improving childcare infrastructure by providing climate-controlled indoor facilities and shaded outdoor parks. According to city statistics, Tainan's parenting centers recorded over 329,000 visits in 2025.
The initiative consolidates resources from 13 parenting centers, one children's center, and 11 themed parks. Key events include 'Explorer Quest' challenges, Grandparents' Day family activities, and a short-video competition for families.
This year’s summer program aims to foster learning through play by incorporating professional storytelling and interactive tasks. In August, the city will host intergenerational activities in celebration of Grandparents' Day to promote meaningful connections between generations.
