According to reports from Reuters, a senior U.S. official has confirmed that Israel and the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah have reached an agreement to implement a ceasefire, effective as of 4:00 PM local time today (June 19).

The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, stated that the agreement was facilitated through mediation efforts by the United States and Qatar, with technical assistance from Iran.

"We have received confirmation that following exchanges of fire earlier today, Israel and Hezbollah have ceased hostilities," the official noted.
