Following statements from the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, the high-level dialogue between the United States and Iran, originally scheduled for today at the Bürgenstock resort in Switzerland, will not proceed as planned.

Reuters reported that a White House spokesperson cited logistical difficulties as the reason for U.S. Vice President JD Vance canceling his travel plans to meet with Iranian negotiators today.

According to the Associated Press, the White House clarified in a statement that certain technical details regarding the meeting remained unresolved. The administration emphasized that the U.S. delegation remains prepared and will identify an optimal time to travel to the venue.

On the 17th, during the G7 summit in France, President Trump signed a memorandum of understanding with Iran. This agreement aims to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and initiate a 60-day negotiation process to address nuclear concerns and reach a final settlement; the Iranian president completed the signing process digitally.

Sources indicated that the Iranian delegation was preparing to depart for the first round of these 60-day talks when the cancellation was announced.
