Taipei, June 19 – Taiwanese professional golfer Hsu Wei-ling posted a 3-under-par 69 in the opening round of the Meijer LPGA Classic, placing her in a tie for 12th, three strokes behind the leader.

The tournament, featuring a total purse of $3.25 million, is currently underway in Michigan. Three Taiwanese players are competing: Hsu Wei-ling, Tseng Ya-ni, and Cheng Ssu-chia.

Hsu, who was the only Taiwanese player to advance in last week's Dow Championship, demonstrated consistent form today. Despite an opening-hole bogey, she quickly recovered with a birdie on the second. She added birdies on the 7th and 14th holes, and despite a bogey on the 16th, finished strongly with birdies on the final two holes.

Reflecting on her performance, Hsu noted that her swing mechanics have been improving, and she is regaining her competitive rhythm. She aims to execute her strategic plan over the next three rounds.

Elsewhere, Tseng Ya-ni carded a 74, and Cheng Ssu-chia finished with a 77. Both currently sit outside the projected cut line and will need to improve their scores in the second round to qualify for the weekend. China’s Liu Yan leads the field after shooting a 66.
