According to reports from CNA (Central News Agency), continuous heavy rains caused a hillside collapse along Tongming Street in Zhongshan District, Keelung City, today, striking a residential home and vehicles. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries have been reported.

Keelung City Councilor Shi Wei-zheng was notified of the incident around 8 a.m. and immediately rushed to the scene. He contacted relevant authorities to dispatch personnel promptly for inspection and disaster response. Police also arrived on site to assist with traffic control and warn passing residents of potential dangers.

Councilor Shi stated that due to prolonged heavy rainfall, many residential areas near hillside zones in Keelung are now at risk of soil instability. He has urged the Keelung City Urban Development Bureau and other responsible agencies to strengthen slope safety inspections.

Zhongshan District Chief Chen Xi-ming explained that rocks and trees slid onto the roadway following the collapse, disrupting traffic. After immediately dispatching machinery and personnel for cleanup, normal traffic was restored by noon. As the land is managed by central government entities such as the Bureau of Public Property, post-disaster recovery efforts will be coordinated with the relevant central authorities.
