Notably, the southbound section of National Freeway 5 from Nangang System to Toucheng may experience congestion starting at 6:00 AM, while the northbound section from Yilan to Pinglin is expected to be congested from 1:00 PM until late at night. Similar five-hour delays are anticipated on the northbound sections of National Freeway 1 (Miaoli to Hukou) and National Freeway 3 (Guanxi to Daxi) beginning at 4:00 PM.
To mitigate traffic, the TANFB advises southbound travelers to depart before 6:00 AM or after 12:00 PM (Western Freeways), or before 5:00 AM or after 5:00 PM (National Freeway 5).
