DPP Taipei mayoral candidate Shen Pao-yang recently proposed solutions for the Neihu district's traffic congestion, including youth housing and marriage/childbirth housing. Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an stated today that he is very willing to listen to and reference good suggestions from all sectors.

Shen noted that while the long-term solution for Neihu lies in MRT construction, the six-year 'traffic dark period' before completion should be addressed through flexible working hours for enterprises, marriage/childbirth housing, youth housing, and electric small bus shuttles.

Chiang, speaking to reporters before an event, said he is open to any good advice presented by various parties. Regarding metaphors for the city, where Chiang compared Taipei to a hotpot during a speech in Singapore and Shen likened its districts to shaved ice with different flavors, Chiang remarked that both are excellent, with hotpot as the main course and shaved ice as dessert.

Chiang returned from Singapore yesterday, noting that the trip was to accept the Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize Special Mention, marking the first time a city in Taiwan has won the award. He expressed gratitude to previous mayors, city staff, and citizens. He also visited Punggol Digital District and the National Stadium, exchanging views with international city leaders on global challenges like extreme weather and aging populations to bring these governance experiences back to Taipei.
