Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung hosted a welcome lunch on June 17 for a delegation led by Lucy McBath, Vice Chair of the US House 'Congressional Black Caucus' (CBC), to discuss bilateral trade and regional affairs.

Lin expressed gratitude for the US Congress's long-term support for Taiwan-US relations. He emphasized that Taiwan, as a trusted partner, is committed to working with the US to foster a mutually beneficial, symbiotic partnership and to jointly promote 'democratic supply chains.'

Lin noted the fruitful results in Taiwan-US trade, stating that the cooperation has evolved beyond traditional trade into areas of economic security, Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital infrastructure, and resilient supply chains. He invited McBath and fellow Representative Valerie Foushee to continue assisting Taiwan in deepening trade and technology cooperation.

McBath reaffirmed support for Taiwan-US relations, citing shared values such as democracy, public welfare, national security, and economic development. She welcomed Taiwanese investment in the US and talent training initiatives, stressing the need to strengthen partnerships amidst global changes. McBath also highlighted the freedom and vitality of Taiwan's society and vowed to continue defending democracy and peace.
