Nantou's Aowanda Celebrates 32nd Anniversary with NT$10 Admission After Recovering from Severe Rain Damage

(CNA, Nantou County, June 18, Reporter: Hsiao Po-yang) The Aowanda Forest Recreation Area, which suffered damage to its roads, slopes, and some facilities due to typhoons and heavy rains that severely impacted the park's environment and recreational functions, is gradually regaining its splendor thanks to active reconstruction by the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency. To celebrate Aowanda's 32nd birthday, admission will be just NT$10 from July 1st to 5th.

The Nantou Branch of the Ministry of Agriculture's Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency announced today that to celebrate the 32nd anniversary of the Aowanda National Forest Recreation Area's opening, a special admission event will be held. From July 1st to July 5th, general admission will be only NT$10, inviting people of all ages to enter the forest, enjoy the cool mountain air, beautiful valleys, and rich ecology, and join in celebrating Aowanda's birthday.

The Nantou Branch stated that Aowanda opened on July 1, 1994, and has accompanied countless visitors through all seasons. Whether for escaping the summer heat or observing the rich ecology year-round, it has always been a captivating destination. Although recent rain disasters caused damage to access roads, slopes, and some facilities, the Nantou Branch has actively carried out reconstruction, completing road repairs, slope stabilization, trail renovation, and facility improvements.

The Nantou Branch said that after reconstruction and recovery, Aowanda is once again showcasing its charming allure. Walking along the forest trails, one can see lush trees and rich ecology everywhere. Looking out from the suspension bridge over the valley and mountains, the magnificent scenery is refreshing and inspiring. The park has not only been restored to its original appearance but has also further enhanced recreational safety and service quality, demonstrating the resilient vitality of the forest after natural disasters.
