Chang Hung-tai, CEO of semiconductor equipment manufacturer Hung Su Group, stated today that customer orders are arriving rapidly and urgently, and the company's current production capacity can only meet approximately one-third of customer demand. He expects no signs of decline until 2030 and announced plans to expand personnel, facilities, and production capacity.
Hung Su held its annual general meeting today, during which shareholders raised concerns about a recent cyberattack incident and future business outlook. Chang said that to meet increasing customer orders, the company has already hired 120 new employees this year, with another 200 job openings still available, and has increased outsourcing.
Chang noted that cumulative order value from January to May this year has already reached twice the company's total revenue of NT$6.5 billion from last year, yet current production capacity meets only about one-third of customer demand due to the sudden surge in orders.
He expressed optimism that second-half performance will surpass the first half and reiterated that no decline is expected through 2030, with the company actively expanding its workforce, facilities, and production capacity.
To expand into the mainland China and U.S. markets, Chang announced that Hung Su will establish a new site in Arizona, USA, and another in mainland China this year.
Regarding new products, Vice President Liang Sheng-chuan said that equipment related to panel-level packaging and 3D hybrid bonding will begin shipping this year. In particular, the single-panel rotating fan-out panel-level packaging (FOPLP) cleaning and etching equipment already has multiple customers, and shipment volumes are expected to increase annually as AI technology rapidly advances.
On copper etching solutions for high-bandwidth memory (HBM), Chang stated that in addition to international memory giants, mainland China also represents a significant potential market.
Regarding the recent cyberattack incident, Chang admitted that the company previously lacked sufficient focus on information security and had been too lax. However, having learned from the incident, the company will strengthen its defenses to prevent future attacks.
