Baoshan Promotes Low-Carbon Transport: Yan港 Creek Bike Path to Connect with Hsinchu City Network

(Central News Agency reporter Kuo Hsuan-wen, Hsinchu County, June 16) Baoshan Township in Hsinchu County is promoting low-carbon transportation. Township Mayor Chiu Chen-wei announced today that the Yan港 Creek bicycle path is nearing completion and will soon connect to Hsinchu City's urban network and the 17-kilometer coastal bicycle path, establishing a comprehensive green transportation network.

The Baoshan Township Office held a promotional event today for the 2026 Da'ai Three-Township Sports Festival. Mayor Chiu stated in his speech that in recent years, the township has upgraded public transportation by transforming the original 'Warm Bus' into the 'Happiness Bus,' providing residents with more convenient and flexible shuttle services.

He added that the Yan港 Creek bicycle path project is about to be completed. It will extend from the Xin Feng Gong Da Zhong Wu Square, linking to Hsinchu City's urban road network and the 17-kilometer coastal bicycle path, forming a vital green corridor that serves commuting, leisure, and tourism purposes.

Chiu pointed out that Baoshan Township has successfully secured the installation of YouBike public bicycles. In the future, by integrating the Happiness Bus, bicycle paths, and the public bike system, a complete low-carbon transportation network will be established, embedding green commuting into daily life.

Regarding the Da'ai Three-Township Sports Festival, Chiu said the event includes Hakka cultural activities such as carrying poles, rice sack carrying, and cloth bag ball games, blending Hakka village culture with sports enjoyment. The three townships will continue to rotate hosting cultural festivals to strengthen Hakka spirit and jointly promote and preserve Hakka culture.

Additionally, the 'Baoshan Township Low-Carbon Commuting Carnival' will be held on the 20th, featuring checkpoint games, policy promotion, low-carbon vehicle experiences, and interactive exhibitions to promote green transportation and sustainable living concepts. (Editor: Chang Ming-kun) 1150616
