(CNA reporter Yang Yao-ju, Taipei, June 15) The 'Global Cooperation and Training Framework' (GCTF) international training workshop was held in Palau, focusing on transparent investment and sustainable development. Government officials, industry and academic experts from like-minded countries attended the event. In his opening remarks, Taiwan's Ambassador to Palau, Chen Kang-yi, stated that Taiwan and Palau continue to jointly safeguard economic and social security.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a press statement today, indicating that Taiwan's and the United States' embassies in Palau, together with Palau's Ministry of State and Ministry of Justice, jointly hosted the GCTF international training workshop in Palau on the 11th. Centered on the theme of 'Enhancing Palau's Economic Investment,' the event invited government officials, industry, academia, and expert scholars from like-minded nations to exchange experiences on promoting sustainable foreign investment and strengthening economic resilience. Discussions also explored how to balance transparent governance and critical industry security while advancing economic development.

In his opening speech, Ambassador Chen emphasized that Taiwan has been assisting Palau through the 'Prosperity Partnership Program' in developing power infrastructure, green energy, and eco-tourism, promoting sustainable smart islands, and deepening judicial cooperation to jointly safeguard economic and social security.

Landisang Kotaro, Chief of Staff in the Office of the President of Palau, also stressed that transparent governance and trustworthy partnerships are key to attracting high-quality investment, promoting sustainable development, and maintaining stability in the Indo-Pacific region.

Additionally, through panel discussions and roundtable forums, the event explored ways to strengthen institutional capacity, improve investment risk assessment mechanisms, and promote collaboration between public and private sectors and international partners. (Edited by Su Lung-chi) 1150615
