(Tainan, June 15) — The Department of Agriculture of Tainan City Government traveled to Japan to promote local agricultural and fisheries products. Yesterday, it participated in the 'Izu Inatori KINME Marathon' held in Higashiizu Town, Shizuoka Prefecture, setting up a booth to display processed products such as mango, pineapple, and pomelo, attracting many local residents to sample and experience them.

Tainan City's Department of Agriculture Director Li Fang-lin told the Central News Agency today that the department has once again participated in the 'Izu Inatori KINME Marathon' in Shizuoka Prefecture, setting up a promotional booth for agricultural and fisheries specialties at the event venue. Through exhibitions, tastings, tourism, agriculture, and sports, the department is marketing Tainan’s agricultural and fisheries products and unique agricultural culture to the Japanese public.

Director Li stated that the exhibition featured a wide range of processed products, including mango, pineapple, pomelo, sweet potato, sesame, and seafood. Additionally, brochures showcasing fresh Tainan fruits, export catalogs, and the bilingual 'Nan Nong Select Gift' catalog in Chinese and Japanese were distributed to introduce the characteristics and origin culture of Tainan’s agricultural and fisheries products. The goal is to allow marathon participants and local residents to experience the diverse charm of Tainan’s agricultural products and further enhance recognition of the Tainan brand in the Japanese market.

He noted that the Japanese market has stringent requirements for food quality, safety, and packaging design. Tainan, with its favorable climate and strong foundation in agriculture and fisheries, has seen the city government actively supporting local producers in recent years to improve product quality and brand image. By participating in events like the Izu Inatori KINME Marathon, which combines sports tourism with local culture, the city aims to lay a more solid foundation for future agricultural exports and民间 exchanges between Taiwan and Japan.
