(CNA reporter Chang Jung-hsiang, Tainan, June 11) A fire broke out tonight in a residential house in Xinying District, Tainan City. Firefighters rushed to the scene and quickly extinguished the flames, rescuing four people who were subsequently sent to hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

At 9:00 p.m. tonight, the Tainan City Fire Bureau received a report that thick smoke was emerging from the kitchen on the first floor of a house in an alley on Zhonghua Road in Xinying District. One adult and two children were trapped on the second floor, and another person was on the third floor. The bureau immediately dispatched 22 vehicles and 43 personnel to the scene, successfully extinguishing the fire by 9:17 p.m.

During the rescue operation, firefighters rescued a 60-year-old woman, a 9-year-old boy, an 11-year-old girl, and another unidentified woman. All four were conscious and showed no external injuries, but were taken to hospital for medical evaluation. (Editor: Chang Ya-ching) 1150611
