(CNA, Moscow, 9th, Comprehensive Foreign Report) Kremlin spokesman Peskov stated today that Russian President Vladimir Putin currently has no plans to speak with US President Donald Trump, while US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner continue to maintain contact with Russia and Ukraine.

According to Reuters, Witkoff and Kushner had been involved in mediation efforts between Russia and Ukraine, but the work stalled after the United States, in collaboration with Israel, launched military operations against Iran in February.

Dmitry Peskov said, "The mediation process concerning Ukraine is now suspended. However, the American negotiators are still in contact, continuing discussions with our side and the Ukrainian side through existing channels. The specific date of their visit has not yet been determined, but we are always happy to welcome them to Russia."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said yesterday that he had a "positive" conversation with Witkoff and Kushner and praised their readiness to work on a solution to the Ukraine war in the coming weeks.

Peskov stated that the Kremlin has not yet received any notification from the US side regarding that conversation.

When asked about possible mediation efforts from Europe, Peskov said that Russia currently considers any intervention from Europe "unacceptable" and claimed that, as far as Russia sees it, "Europeans are more inclined to focus on prolonging the war rather than peace talks."
