LINE Pay Partners with Taichung City Police to Boost Fraud Prevention Awareness Among Students

(Central News Agency, reporter Wu Jiahao, Taipei, 8th) Mobile payment brand LINE Pay is promoting its annual public welfare project, 'Digital Inclusion, Intergenerational Harmony'. This year, it has partnered with the Taichung City Police Department's Criminal Investigation Brigade to visit universities and colleges near Taichung City's central business district, areas with numerous mobile payment points and frequent transactions, to hold campus mobile payment fraud prevention seminars. The goal is to strengthen fraud prevention awareness and payment security concepts among the younger generation.

LINE Pay issued a press release today explaining that the 'Digital Inclusion' public welfare project has moved to Taichung this year to actively achieve the goals of digital equality and inclusive finance. This is also because Taichung City has experienced explosive growth in urban development, commercial district transformation, and the food and beverage retail industry in recent years, making the promotion of safe mobile payment usage an urgent priority.

LINE Pay not only participated in the Ministry of Education's project to conduct campus safety awareness activities at Feng Chia University but also co-hosted campus seminars with the Taichung City Criminal Investigation Brigade. In collaboration with National Taiwan University of Sport and National Taichung University of Education, they explained the various functions and design intentions of mobile payments to nearly 400 university faculty and students, aiming to enhance young users' understanding of payment platforms and prevent them from falling victim to fraud due to unfamiliarity with related functions.

LINE Pay urges users not to click on unfamiliar links, to properly safeguard their LINE Pay passwords, not to share screens containing personal payment barcodes with third parties who are not the intended recipients, and not to scan codes for payment according to others' instructions, in order to avoid unauthorized transactions.
