(CNA reporter Cheng Wei-chen, Changhua, 7th) The "2026 Lukang Dragon Boat Festival - Town Light and Shadow Art Festival," in collaboration with DreamWorks' popular IP "Kung Fu Panda," held its lighting ceremony last night on the Old Lukang Creek water stage. The exhibition will run until August 23, with lights on from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM nightly.

Changhua County Magistrate Wang Huei-mei, who attended the event, stated that Lukang possesses "true kung fu" refined over time in its traditional crafts, local cuisine, temple culture, and historical sites. Therefore, this year's light and shadow art festival specially incorporates "Kung Fu Panda."

Wang said that this year's collaboration with DreamWorks Animation's popular IP "Kung Fu Panda" creates an immersive light and shadow space, transforming the characters into large-scale light installations and interactive scenes. The main lantern is titled "Boundless Heroism," with a light show every 30 minutes.

Furthermore, through the "iPLAY CHANGHUA" official LINE account, participants can scan QR codes at designated locations such as the Old Lukang Creek, Guihua巷 Art Village, and Lukang Assembly Hall. By collecting stamps from any two locations, they have a chance to win prizes like an iPhone 17. Linking this with stamp collection from other events like the Dragon King Festival and the International Manatee Culture Festival will grant one additional lottery chance for each.

The Changhua County Government's Urban and Tourism Development Department stated that this year's theme is "A Century of Kung Fu." It integrates elements from Lukang such as chan-hua (silk-wrapping) craft, traditional window lattices, and temple totems, coordinated with scenes from the movie, to transform the entire town into a martial arts world that can be explored, viewed, and tasted. Subsequently, the Lukang Dragon Boat Festival series of events will take place from the 19th to the 21st. (Editor: Wu Su-jou) 1150607
