Fu Zichun, Star of 'Rookies' Diary,' Dies of Acute Leukemia at 46

Earlier, Fu Zichun's agency stated that he suffered sudden symptoms caused by acute leukemia on the afternoon of June 7 and died despite emergency medical treatment. He was 46 years old.

In a press release, the agency said that Fu had just returned from a relaxing vacation in Bali, Indonesia, when his condition flared up without warning. On the afternoon of June 7, Fu suddenly lost consciousness and stopped breathing. His family rushed him to Tamsui Mackay Memorial Hospital for emergency care.

According to the press release, the medical team continuously administered CPR and various emergency measures, but the acute illness was too aggressive. After several hours of intensive rescue efforts, they were ultimately unable to save Fu's life.

The agency stated that Fu became famous after starring in the military drama 'Rookies' Diary,' which established him as an indispensable leading actor in Formosa TV's (FTV) prime-time 8 p.m. dramas. He was adept at playing a wide range of roles, from a deeply affectionate and considerate warm man, to a calm and domineering CEO, to a down-to-earth, grassroots character.

In addition, Fu acted in numerous 8 p.m. dramas such as 'City of Love,' 'Glory of Love,' 'The World Between Us,' and 'Good Luck,' and also had an intense kissing scene with actress Wu Ke-xi in the film 'The Bold, the Corrupt, and the Beautiful.'

Regarding his work ethic, the agency described Fu as a recognized 'civil servant' in the industry, known for his low-key, down-to-earth, and unassuming personality.
