(CNA, New Taipei, by reporter Huang Hsu-sheng, June 6) The Taiwan People's Party (TPP) established its joint campaign headquarters for New Taipei City councilors today, with Kuomintang (KMT) mayoral candidate Lee Ssu-chuan attending the convention, marking the first "Blue-White collaboration" on the same stage. He joined TPP Chairman Huang Kuo-chang and former Chairman Ko Wen-je in chanting, "Fighting for New Taipei with popular support, a confluence of rivers creating a new landscape."

The launch ceremony for the TPP's joint campaign headquarters for New Taipei City councilor candidates and the Lee Ssu-chuan for Mayor support group was held today in Xinzhuang District at the former campaign headquarters of Huang Kuo-chang for his New Taipei mayoral run. Attendees included Ko Wen-je, legislators, and numerous city councilors from both the KMT and TPP.

The TPP's six councilor candidates—Chen Yu-chieh, Chen Yi-chun, Lin Tzu-yu, Chen Yen-ting, Chen Shih-hsuan, and Wu Ya-lun—each elaborated on their ideals and gifted a leather jacket to Lee Ssu-chuan, symbolizing him as the CEO of New Taipei City, akin to NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, leading New Taipei into a new era.

In his speech, Huang Kuo-chang expressed his belief that TPP supporters would fully back Lee Ssu-chuan's election to continue the governance of Mayor Hou Yu-ih. He added that TPP's councilor candidates would also strive to earn voters' support. He described the relationship as a healthy competition between the blue and white camps, and that if elected, TPP councilors would diligently supervise Lee Ssu-chuan.

Lee Ssu-chuan also presented a support group flag to Huang Kuo-chang. In his address, Lee stated that promoting the AI industry in Taiwan is for the youth. He also proposed the early construction of the "Lu-She Bridge" to connect New Taipei's Luzhou and Taipei's Shezi, linking to the Beitou-Shilin Tech Park AI campus and extending to Neihu to form an industrial corridor.

Lee Ssu-chuan emphasized his hope to work for New Taipei together, regardless of party or political colors, including the TPP. He stated he would incorporate policies beneficial to New Taipei and recruit talented individuals.

During a media interview, Huang Kuo-chang said that communication and coordination between the blue and white camps are smooth and ongoing, and that he meets with Lee Ssu-chuan's team once a week, with communication being very smooth.

Regarding the competition for city council seats with other political parties, Huang said that council elections are multi-seat races, and as a party with its own identity, competition is inevitable for the TPP. Each will strive for voter recognition. In the future, in the New Taipei City Council, they will fight alongside the KMT team, and a TPP caucus will supervise the mayor, meaning incumbent TPP councilor Chen Shih-hsuan will no longer fight alone.
