(CNA, Taipei, 6th) Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung, speaking at the "22nd Taiwan Golden Root Awards Ceremony and AI Technology Forum" yesterday, stated that the government will continue to join hands with private enterprises to enhance the competitiveness and influence of Taiwan's tech industry in the international market. He invited businesses to "deepen their roots in Taiwan and deploy globally" to jointly build an economic sun-never-sets nation.
A press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today noted that Lin attended the event held at the NTU International Convention Center yesterday as an award presenter. He conveyed the government's commitment to continuously deepen public-private partnerships to jointly burnish the "Trusted Technology Taiwan" brand and enhance the international competitiveness and influence of Taiwan's tech industry.
Lin pointed out that the past promotion of the "New Southbound Policy" and the "5+2 Industrial Innovation Plan" has already laid the foundation for Taiwan's foreign economic and trade development. In the future, in line with President Lai Ching-te's vision of an "economic sun-never-sets nation," the government will lead enterprises to expand into global markets through a new wild goose flying theory, involving large companies leading smaller ones, public-private cooperation, a combination of software and hardware, and both internal and external circulation.
Lin further stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is currently promoting several cooperation projects in Taiwan's diplomatic allies, including the Taiwan-Paraguay Smart Technology Park and the Eswatini Industrial Innovation Park. Through a public-private partnership model, these projects integrate Taiwan's technological and industrial advantages to help businesses expand their overseas markets.
Lin explained that Taiwan is also embracing several development opportunities, including deepening Taiwan-US economic and trade relations and promoting bilateral investment and trade cooperation. These are all conducive to enhancing the international competitiveness and global deployment capabilities of Taiwanese enterprises. In the future, he said, Taiwan will continue to move towards the international market through its tech industry, "not only to let the world see Taiwan, but also to make the world like Taiwan."
The Ministry stated that Tu Hsing-che, chairman of the Taiwan Industrial Technology Association (TITA), said in his speech that "building the nation through technology" is a crucial direction for Taiwan's development. Only through continuous technological innovation can the nation strengthen its power, drive economic growth, and create more globally competitive key industries.
The Ministry pointed out that the "Taiwan Golden Root Award," organized by TITA, aims to recognize exemplary enterprises that remain rooted in Taiwan and are industrially competitive. It encourages the industry to continuously deepen R&D capabilities, promote industrial upgrading and innovative development, and further strengthen Taiwan's key position in the global technology supply chain, highlighting the core spirit of "deepening roots in Taiwan and deploying globally."
