Chang Yu-hao Records First Hit and RBI, Relieves Pressure with Corrected Approach

On June 5, he recorded two hits and one RBI, achieving his first career hit, first RBI, and first run scored, and was named the game's MVP for the first time. He said the pressure was released after correcting his tendency to chase bad pitches and making a timely contribution.

Chang was first called up to the first team on May 26, made his debut as a pinch hitter on May 30, and started his first game as catcher on May 31. After striking out in the top of the 3rd inning, he recorded his first career hit in the top of the 6th. In addition to his first hit, RBI, and run, Chang also threw out two base stealers. After the game, Chang said that his seniors had noticed his smile had disappeared and that he had become quiet, so they took the initiative to chat with him and encourage him.

Chang said that after getting his first hit in the 6th inning, the pressure was released. He noted that in previous games, he had too many strikeouts and poor plate discipline, often swinging at bad pitches. "Today, I tried to see the ball higher and not swing blindly, and it worked," he said.

Regarding his clutch hit in the 7th inning, Chang said, "It was time to make a contribution. I tried to replicate what I did in my previous at-bat and help the team pull away."

Chang twisted his ankle slightly while running the bases after his go-ahead hit. He laughed it off, saying, "I was just too excited. My foot is fine, but controlling my emotions is something I need to learn."
