(Central News Agency, New Delhi, 5th, Comprehensive Foreign Report) The founder of the Indian political satire online community 'Cockroach Janta Party' said he will fly to the capital New Delhi today, preparing to take the anti-government movement that went viral on social media to the streets.
According to AFP, the initiator of this online movement is Abhijeet Dipke, a 30-year-old graduate of Boston University in the United States. He said he is returning to India from the US and plans to apply to the police to hold a peaceful protest against the Education Minister on the 6th.
The satirical group, named 'Cockroach Janta Party' (CJP), deliberately echoes the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Since its establishment last month, it has attracted millions of followers on social media.
The 'Cockroach Janta Party' was born after Supreme Court judge Surya Kant reportedly referred to young people who criticize the government as 'cockroaches' and 'parasites' during a court hearing. Kant later explained that his remarks were taken out of context.
Before studying in the US, Dipke served in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). He created the online account for this fictional political party on May 16.
He plans to demand the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, citing irregularities in several important exams that have sparked public anger.
Sonam Wangchuk, a well-known social activist from the Ladakh region of India, also said he would participate in the protest.
