(Central News Agency reporter Zhao Liyan, Taichung, 4th) Taichung City has made lunches free for public and private elementary and junior high schools starting from the 115th academic year. However, an incident where a bucket of soup at one school contained only nine fish balls drew public attention. In response, the Taichung City Education Bureau recently held a healthy diet observation activity, inviting schools to exchange their lunch management experiences, hoping to ensure children are full and eat well.

The Taichung City Education Bureau told a Central News Agency reporter today that it recently collaborated with the Ministry of Education's Department of K-12 Education to hold a "School Lunch Advisory Group Regional Advisory Exchange Meeting and Healthy Diet Education Demonstration School Observation and Study" event. Lunch-related personnel from various counties and cities were invited to Qinghai Junior High School. Nutritionists and the lunch team introduced how to promote healthy eating and food and agricultural education in schools.

Taichung City Education Bureau Director Jiang Weimin stated that Taichung City employs 86 campus nutritionists who conduct daily inspections and management of lunch ingredients and supervise kitchen operations to ensure compliance with hygiene regulations.

The Education Bureau pointed out that the lunch team at Qinghai Junior High School, under the nutritional standards set by the Ministry of Education, combines local cuisine with diverse healthy eating education methods. This helps students understand the source of their daily meals and establish a concept of balanced eating. The lunch quality has long been praised by students.

The Education Bureau expressed its hope that through sharing by relevant teams, the healthy eating knowledge of students across the city can be improved, ensuring children are full and eat well. (Editor: Wu Surou) 1150604
