(Central News Agency, reporter Chen Zhizhong, Taipei, June 3) The 2026 Taiwan Student Research Symposium and Expert Mentoring Forum (TSRS 2026) was recently held at the National Taiwan Science Education Center, with 149 teachers and students participating to exchange experiences from topic selection to the international stage, showcasing the research potential of the younger generation.

The Ministry of Education issued a press release today stating that the TSRS, held in Taipei on May 30, involved selected students (high school) and teachers (elementary to university level) from various counties and cities. The event featured a rich program, including experience-sharing sessions by teams that participated in this year's International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) and one-on-one critiques by experts and scholars from various fields.

Chen Longqi, a teacher from Taoyuan Pingxing Junior High School, stated that this forum was not only a presentation event for students but also allowed on-site teachers to absorb practical experience in top-tier research guidance, making it a feast of intellectual collision.

Lin Jiaying, a student from Taipei First Girls' High School who achieved excellent results at ISEF, shared that the process of project research was full of challenges. From initially facing unknown problems to gradually clarifying the direction with the help of her advisor, she deeply realized that scientific inquiry requires continuous experimentation, revision, and practice. Although she faced pressure and setbacks along the way, completing and presenting her research was an extremely precious and unforgettable learning experience.

The Ministry of Education pointed out that this event deepened on-site teachers' understanding of student research processes and inquiry-based teaching by analyzing the journey of research guidance. It will continue to promote the cultivation of gifted students in science, humanities, and the arts, strengthening the innovation and research capabilities of the new generation.
