Qiu Kun-liang, Liao Ching-sung, and Hsu Jen-hsiu Receive Executive Yuan Cultural Award

The Ministry of Culture announced today that Qiu Kun-liang, an honorary professor at TNUA, film master Liao Ching-sung, and reportage writer Hsu Jen-hsiu are the recipients of the 45th Executive Yuan Cultural Award. Minister of Culture Li Yuan personally called to congratulate them, stating the awards were well-deserved. Qiu, born in 1949, is a writer, playwright, and theater historian who has significantly influenced Taiwan's cultural policy. Liao, born in 1950, is a legendary film editor known as the 'nanny of Taiwan New Cinema.' Hsu, born in 1946, has dedicated his life to documenting and preserving Taiwan's natural ecology. The award ceremony will be held on August 5 at Zhongshan Hall in Taipei, with each recipient receiving a medal, certificate, and NT$1 million.
