Taoyuan Airport Aircraft Noise Subsidy Applications Open, Up to NT$60,000 Available

TAOYUAN (CNA) - The Taoyuan Environmental Protection Bureau announced today that applications for the ninth phase (2026-2027) of aircraft noise prevention subsidies will be accepted from June 1, 2026, to December 31, 2027. The program covers approximately 55,000 households in Taoyuan and New Taipei City, with subsidies of up to NT$60,000 available. The Taoyuan City Environmental Protection Bureau stated in a press release that the aircraft noise prevention zone is reviewed every two years, and the scope and amount of subsidies are adjusted based on monitoring results. This phase covers Xiafu Village in Linkou District, New Taipei City; the entire Dayuan District in Taoyuan City; and parts of Guanyin, Luzhu, Zhongli, and Xinwu Districts, totaling 6 administrative districts and 38 villages. Approximately 55,000 households are expected to be eligible. Subsidies are divided into 5 levels based on noise intensity: Level 1 receives NT$10,000, Level 2 NT$20,000, Level 3 NT$30,000, Level 4 NT$40,000, and Level 5 NT$60,000. To improve convenience, the bureau recommends that residents use the 'Taoyuan International Airport Aircraft Noise Prevention Fee Online Application Service Platform.' Those who completed the application in the previous phase and have no changes in their information only need to upload their ID card and an electricity bill from within the last six months to complete the process, reducing the time spent on repetitive paperwork. Alternatively, residents can bring relevant documents and a personal seal to the Taoyuan Aerotropolis Joint Service Center during business hours to apply in person. The bureau reminds residents that the application deadline is December 31, 2027, and late or incomplete applications will result in disqualification. Buildings used for commercial purposes, vacant houses, storage of agricultural or fishing tools, or livestock farming are not eligible for subsidies. Additionally, those who completed relocation after January 1, 2024, due to the Taoyuan Aerotropolis expropriation and relocation compensation project must also submit their applications during this period to protect their rights.
