Loose Advertising Canvas at Taichung Tutoring Center Prompts Environmental Bureau Action

A tutoring center in Taichung had an advertising canvas on its exterior wall that was loose and threatening to fall, sparking public concern about potential danger to the road or railway tracks below. The Taichung City Environmental Protection Bureau stated today that it has requested the business to handle the matter as soon as possible, and the business has already removed the canvas that posed a risk of falling. Citizens had pointed out through social media platforms that the advertising canvas of a tutoring center next to the Taiwan Railways Taichung Station was swaying, and since the railway tracks were directly below, they were worried that an accident could occur if it fell. The Environmental Protection Bureau stated that after receiving the report yesterday, they immediately sent personnel to investigate and requested the business to handle it as soon as possible. The business has already removed the canvas with a risk of falling to eliminate public safety concerns. The remaining canvas was assessed on-site and found to have no immediate risk of falling; however, the business has been ordered to fulfill its maintenance and management responsibilities, and the situation will continue to be tracked for improvement. The Environmental Protection Bureau said that subsequent removal work will require borrowing space from neighboring residents, and it will be carried out once construction conditions are met. The Bureau will continue to send personnel to track and inspect the site, urging the business to improve as soon as possible.
