Man Kills Mother in Keelung Over Clothing Dispute, Then Commits Suicide

KEELUNG, May 31 (CNA) - A 28-year-old man in Keelung allegedly killed his mother with a kitchen knife after a dispute over a windbreaker she bought for his brother but not for him, before jumping to his death from the roof of their apartment building. Both were pronounced dead after being rushed to the hospital. Prosecutors are investigating the cause of death. According to reports, the unemployed suspect had frequent arguments with his 59-year-old mother. The incident occurred yesterday evening at their home in Qidu District. The brother witnessed the scene and notified their father, but emergency responders could not save the victims. Neighbors described the family as kind and were shocked by the tragedy. Police are urging citizens to seek help for emotional distress.
