NLMA: Average Soil Disposal Cost is 1,065 TWD; Price Gouging Will Be Penalized

Regarding media reports on rising construction costs, the National Land Management Agency (NLMA) announced today that the current average soil disposal cost across Taiwan is approximately 1,065 TWD per cubic meter. The government stated it has properly managed the issue and warned that any malicious price gouging will be strictly punished. According to the NLMA, the Executive Yuan has integrated cross-departmental efforts to expand soil disposal capacity to 235 million cubic meters, establishing temporary storage sites at Taipei Port, Changbin, and Nanxing. Furthermore, over 16,000 transport vehicles are equipped with GPS for tracking. The NLMA emphasized that it has established a system to track soil from production to disposal, aiming to prevent illegal dumping and protect national land.
